Tribute to the first jockeys of the Kentucky Derby. Most of the jockeys were African American. The last African American jockey to win at the Derby was Winkfield in 1902.

1861-1896. He was the first jockey to be inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. Murphy won 1st place in 1884, 1890 and 1891. Issac Burns was considered to be one of the greatest riders in American racing history.

In 1907, Jimmy came in 6th place at the Kentucky Derby. On June 5th, 1907, he set an all-time record. At Churchill Downs, Jimmy won the entire six-card race on that day.
